The Chameleon: ecoMOD XS

arch4010 | fall 2010 | instructor: John Quale

Through modular construction, this Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) can be modified to respond to different site and occupant requirements - hence the name "Chameleon."  The design offers three possible floor layouts, and a variety of cladding options. Elevations designed specifically for each cardinal orientation allow the ADU to respond to different sites, and an option of a two-story or semi-recessed layout provides occupants the ability to  customize the ADU based on programmatic needs.

This project was a collaboration with two other fourth-year architecture students.
